Tiiiiiiiimber!!! — Clearing the site for the new building
Yes, we COULD have paid someone $1,000-$2,000 to clear the two pine trees that were on the future site of the Caretaker Residence, BUT, as our neighbor Mark says: “When you watch your nickels, your dollars take care of themselves.” SO, with help from former OLG high school group participant Ryan Wasik (who now happens to be experienced in felling trees) we saved some money and took the trees down ourselves (not to worry, they did not go to waste—our neighbor Richard Hypes helped us haul the logs to his sawmill and taught us how to cut them up into 2x4s and 1-inch lumber for future projects out in the community and around the Farm.
